Royals Come To Terms With Eric Hosmer
The Kansas City Royals tonight announced they have reached an agreement with first round draft choice Eric Hosmer, the third overall selection in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft. Consistent with team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

A first baseman from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Fla., Hosmer, who bats and throws left handed, hit .470 with 11 homer runs, 27 RBI, 49 runs, and 14 stolen bases as a senior.
Hosmer participated in the Aflac All-American High School Baseball Classic in 2007 and was named the 2008 Player of the Year by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Baseball America's 2008 draft preview rated Hosmer as the high school player with the best power as well as being the prep talent that is closest to the majors.
Freddy Garcia, Tigers Agree To Minor-League Deal
The Tigers have agreed to a minor league deal with right-handed pitcher Freddy Garcia, as reported by the Associated Press on Tuesday.
Garcia had been a free agent since he pitched for Philadelphia in 2007. The right-hander previously pitched for the Chicago White Sox and the Seattle Mariners.
Marlins Agree To Minor-League Deal With Lo Duca
Veteran catcher Paul Lo Duca and the Marlins agreed to a minor league deal Friday, according to an Associated Press report.
Lo Duca, waived by the Nationals on July 31, will report to Triple-A Albuquerque.
D'Backs, Haren Agree To Extension
Arizona right-hander Dan Haren came to terms with the Diamondbacks on a four-year contract extension, according to an Associated report on Tuesday.
